Meet California student creators who are using their voices to drive change. Through original, shareable content, they’re showing how small actions like redeeming CRV containers, composting food scraps, and choosing reusables can have a big impact. By bringing these everyday actions to life in ways that feel relevant and accessible to their peers, students are helping build a better, cleaner, more sustainable future for California.
Attention local governments and service providers: Help spread the campaign’s message by engaging with these student posts through shares, likes, and comments!

Grades of Green
About the Partnership
Small actions become even more powerful when our future leaders, students, show the way. That’s why CalRecycle partnered with Grades of Green for a student ambassador program, where high school and college ambassadors across California turn the Recycling Reimagined campaign insights into their own creative outreach. From Instagram to TikTok, these young eco‑leaders inspire their communities to cash in CRV containers and put food scraps in the green bin to save resources and reduce air pollution from landfills. Explore how to cash in your CRV and curb your food scraps on the campaign site, and visit the Grades of Green site to learn more about the ambassador program.

Effective Engagement Through Student Creativity
Using the power of social media, student ambassadors made a substantial impact and spread the word about the campaign. Here’s how their efforts measured up!
